Pregnancy tests: Using the self-test model, Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center provides free pregnancy tests that are 99% accurate 7 to 10 days after conception.Health services: Part-time medical personnel provide limited ultrasounds and prenatal vitamins to qualifying clients.
Information about abortion risks and alternatives: Trained peer advocate volunteers offer information to mothers and fathers who are considering abortion. Information includes physical, emotional, and spiritual risks of abortion in addition to facts about parenting and adoption.
Community resources: Peer advocates provide upon request referrals for adoption agencies, housing, shelters, and other appropriate agencies.
Bible studies and parenting classes: Mothers and fathers learn valuable information that will help them when their babies arrive.
Baby and maternity clothes and equipment: By attending classes, mothers and fathers earn points that they can use to “buy” items from the baby boutique filled with donations from the community. Most donations are gently used, including clothes, cribs, pack ‘n plays, towels and crib linens, diaper bags, high chairs, and other essentials for babies. New items include bottles, pacifiers, and disposable diapers.
