About Us...

photo5Mission Statement

We offer the love and truth of Jesus Christ and His plan for sexuality, marriage, and the family. We befriend, educate, comfort, and support abortion-vulnerable adults and teens, before, during and after pregnancy.

Our History

In 1985 a small Christian group began Greensboro Crisis Pregnancy Center to assist women and men facing pregnancy-related issues. During the 1990's, the ministry purchased a facility on North Elm Street. The organization expanded its reach with satellite centers in Rockingham and Randolph Counties as Piedmont Pregnancy Care Center. These agencies went on to become autonomous, and the ministry became Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center.

Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center offers pregnancy tests, information about abortion procedures and risks, maternity and baby clothes and supplies, parenting classes, abortion recovery, and referrals for some community services such as housing adoption agencies. The Care Center added other services, including a Health Services area for limited ultrasounds, through which pregnant women can view the babies that they may be yet unable to feel. A Relationship Reality program was added to help young women learn the value of a commitment to abstinence outside of marriage. Great to Wait presentations are made throughout the community with the message of sexual purity to groups.

Numerical client growth necessitated a remodeling of the facility to create more space for client appointments. In addition, male volunteers were trained as peer advocates with male clients who join women in seeking help from the Care Center. The Care Center impacts beyond the mother to the whole family and community.

Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center is affiliated with CareNet, National Institution of Family Life Advocates (NIFLA), and is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). All services offered are free and confidential as allowed by law.
